Used Car Inspection Checklist — 25 Points
Buying a used car in Kuwait can save thousands of KD, but you need to inspect carefully.
Exterior Inspection (7 Points)
- ✅ Body: Look for any repainting. Run your hand over the surface — is it even?
- ✅ Doors: Open and close each door — does it latch smoothly?
- ✅ Glass: Check for any cracks
- ✅ Tires: Check remaining tread depth and manufacture date
- ✅ Lights: Verify all lights work (headlights, tail lights, signals, fog)
- ✅ Under the car: Any oil or fluid leaks?
- ✅ Panel gaps: Are they even? Large gaps = previous accident
Engine Inspection (5 Points)
- ✅ Engine sound: Start the car cold — listen for unusual noises
- ✅ Oil: Open oil cap — light brown = good, black sticky = problem
- ✅ Coolant: Check color and level
- ✅ Exhaust: Heavy white smoke = head gasket issue
- ✅ Engine temperature: Does it rise after starting? Should stay stable
Interior Inspection (6 Points)
- ✅ Seats: Condition, movement, heating/cooling
- ✅ Dashboard: Any warning lights?
- ✅ A/C: Set to coldest — does it cool quickly?
- ✅ Screen & audio: Bluetooth, USB, rear camera
- ✅ Power windows: Test each window
- ✅ Sunroof: Opens and closes properly?
Test Drive (5 Points)
- ✅ Brakes: Does the car stop straight without pulling?
- ✅ Transmission: Smooth gear changes?
- ✅ Steering wheel: Any vibration at high speed?
- ✅ Suspension sounds: Do you hear noise over bumps?
- ✅ Alignment: On a straight road, does the car drift?
Document Verification (2 Points)
- ✅ Accident report: Request a report from traffic department
- ✅ Service history: Ask for maintenance receipts — agency service is a big plus

Taking the car for an independent inspection before buying is the best investment (5-15 KD). Inspection centers in Kuwait:
