Understanding the Material
Leather is a natural material. Its grain, markings, colour, and texture vary from one hide to another, making every finished piece subtly different.

Full-Grain Leather
Full-grain leather retains the natural surface of the hide. It is valued for its strength, texture, and ability to develop a rich patina over time. Because the surface is not heavily corrected, natural markings may remain visible — these are part of the material’s character and should not be considered defects.
Vegetable-Tanned Leather
Vegetable tanning is a traditional process that uses natural tannins derived from plant materials. The result is leather with structure, depth, and a distinctive ability to change with light, touch, and use. It may begin firm and gradually soften as it becomes more personal to its owner.
What Is Patina?
Patina is the gradual change that appears on natural leather through exposure to touch, light, movement, and the environment. Over time, the leather may darken, soften, develop subtle marks, and gain greater depth of colour. No two pieces age in exactly the same way — the patina becomes a visual record of how the product has been used.
